About the center

A small team, a clear mission

hardonben was founded to make sound economic reasoning accessible to anyone with the curiosity to learn it, without a paywall or a sales pitch.

Our story

Why we started hardonben

hardonben began in 2019 as a modest collection of study notes shared among a group of economics graduates based in Switzerland. What started as an informal reference for friends and colleagues gradually grew into a structured, publicly available learning resource.

Today, hardonben operates as an independent, non-commercial educational project. Our small editorial team researches, writes, and reviews every piece of content published on this site, drawing on academic literature, public data, and established economic frameworks.

We are not a financial institution, a university, or an advisory firm. We are a group of people who believe that economic literacy should be within everyone's reach, and we maintain this site as a public resource rather than a commercial product.

The principles behind our work

Accuracy first

Content is grounded in established economic theory and cross-checked against credible public sources before publication.

No commercial agenda

We do not sell courses, subscriptions, signals, or advisory services. This site exists purely to inform.

Written for everyone

Our explanations are designed for students, professionals, and anyone approaching economics for the first time.

A Swiss home base

Our editorial team is based in Zug, Switzerland, a region with a long-standing connection to finance, trade, and economic institutions. This setting informs our interest in comparative economic systems and cross-border policy questions.

While our perspective is shaped by our European base, the resources on this site are written to be relevant to readers anywhere, covering both national and global economic concepts.
